How the wall should be diagnosed before repair
During an inspection, the review should not be limited to the most obvious mark. The surrounding wall helps show whether the visible condition is isolated or part of a larger transition, moisture or bond problem.
- percentage of wall that is loose or repeatedly patched
- active cracks and moisture paths that must be repaired first
- existing paint, elastomeric coating or acrylic finish
- wall transitions, joints and architectural stopping points
- whether the desired change is structural restoration, texture renewal, color renewal or all three
