What should be checked on site
During an inspection, the review should not be limited to the most obvious mark. The surrounding wall helps show whether the visible condition is isolated or part of a larger transition, moisture or bond problem.
- clearance between stucco and soil or paving
- irrigation and downspout discharge
- vertical and stair-step crack patterns
- spalling, salts and moisture at the base
- whether the coating is true stucco or a foundation parge coat
