The field conditions that change the scope
During an inspection, the review should not be limited to the most obvious mark. The surrounding wall helps show whether the visible condition is isolated or part of a larger transition, moisture or bond problem.
- fractures radiating beyond the hole
- bent lath or crushed insulation
- torn paper and exposed sheathing
- nearby electrical, plumbing or gas lines
- whether a removed fixture or penetration must be properly flashed
